Our communities anchor us, helping us to define who we are and enabling us to be the person we want to be. From our first breathe, we are part of a community, the family. We have a home, and we live in a place. Those communities are not of our choosing, we are born into them. But as life advances, early on, we begin to chose our broader communities -- our friends, interests, schools, professions, faith, pursuits of passion, and so on. Traveling broadens our communities and our understanding that all of us have something in common, based on the communities we chose.
